Author Details
This plugin shows user details and other articles based on the creator of the current article. It's using a template based approach.
Instructions
This plugin shows its output using template files. These files should be put into plugins/content/authordetails/layouts/ folder. By default, there are 2 templates for article list and 1 template for author information. Naming convention is article_tmplname.php and information_tmplname.php. After putting these files in that folder, you can choose the template to use in plugin parameters. This makes customization easier.
There are some parameters that may need explanation. "Show According To Author Name" looks for author name in the article parameters and if it's on shows the plugin. This is good if you want to hide the plugin output from particular pages and don't want to deal with allowed article parameter.

Aslında önerin harikaydı ancak anladığım kadarıyla ben Joomla 1.5.4 kullandığım için (User meta versiyonu 1.5.2) tabloyu da yarattığım halde bende extra alan database'e kayıt yapamadı. Bu konuda bana ücretiyle yardımcı olmayı düşünür müsün? Database'e 2 kaydı girmek ve o kaydı (köşenin başlığı ve yazarı tanıtan kısa bir yazıyı) köşe yazılarının başında göstermek kadar basit bir talebim var. E-mailime yanıt yazabilirsin. It's really cool component but I found one problem. If you have multi page article all author informations are printed on every page and it doesn't look professional. If you can fix that and author details and other publications will display only on last page it will be great.
Hi, it worked ok. Now, only one point is, would be easier if we had an option (in the plugin configuration) to disable the collapsed function, instead of having to edit the code. One question: will Google robots follow the links inside the plugin ? Tks. Great plugin.

Hi Christophe, I didn't try it but 2 changes should be enough: 1- Change onAfterDisplayContent to onPrepareContent. 2- Find return $output; in this method and instead put this code block: $article->text .= $output; return true That should be enough. HTH. Ercan
Thanks for your great work! And one question: is it possible to add such a feature as replacing author's caption in the blog wiew with a link to the list of other articles published by him, instead of showing it below the article? Thanks in advance!
Merhaba, Eklenti çok güzel, teşekkür ederim. Fakat ne yazık ki ben Türkçeleştiremedim. articles_default.php'deki "Show Other Articles Of This Author" yazısını "Yazarın Diğer Yazıları" şeklinde değiştirdiğim zaman Türkçe karakterler görünmüyor. Yardımcı olabilirseniz çok memnun olurum.

Excellent solution. 1-2-3 done in 2-3 minutes. Perhaps a future version might include a reader selectable option "show all" articles by author. This would be a big help until Joomla has a decent search feature.

Hi there, great plugin. Does this plugin create a linking page to authors where you can view the articles. because at the moment you can only see author articles when you are in the article? Thanks
Hello Cemal, This plugin does not support such a feature. For that you need to have a component. Plugins can not create new pages. You might take a look at Joomunity or Community Builder or something like that. Hope that helps Regards Ercan

@edebi, Try changing onAfterDisplayContent to onBeforeDisplayContent in authordetails.php file. That should do it. I will probably make it configurable in the next release.
I was able to recode the plugin to make it embeddable in content with a simple tag like: {authors} It wasn't easy, though! Check out: www.taipanpublishinggroup.com/invest-in-electricity-infrastructure.html Look for "Also By This Author" There is one glitch I'm trying to work around. The plugin uses the Author Alias when that field is populated. I need to recode the plugin so it only uses the author ID. As an aside, I also made a fully embeddable version of Jomcomment.

I installed this plugin and then set the options and activated it. However, nothing seems to happen. In reading the instructions at the top it says to move some layout files to a certain folder. I did and renamed them according to my layout: "articles_js_jamba.php" and "information_js_jamba.php". I'm not sure if this is even needed. What exactly needs to be done? Really looking forward to getting this to work! This is something that has been missing from Joomla for a long time!

Lovely plugin and gave me just what I wanted. However, there is a problem with IE7. The list of other articles shows above the "Show other articles......" text. When I click on the line, the contents show properly formatted and below the "Show other articles......" line, as it should. In Firefox it is fine. How do I solve this? (I do not know JS and I am really badly rushed for time!) Please please do help.
Hi, I am using Author Details on my site and I really like it, thank you! I have one problem however. I have it set to only show on some sections. This setting works correct but in the "other articles by other" list it links to all the other articles. Is there any way to exclude some sections from here? One of my authors submits articles but also is responsible for the site blog which will be updated twice a day. This means that her content articles will be lost in that "show other articles" list because there will be so many blog postings listed. I do not mind editing the plugin files if you know of a way to do this. Thanks.

@AJ, I don't think this is possible in the current release. Sorry. @mehdi, I haven't heard any problem with the legacy mode. What's the problem?
